Business Development Manager

Purpose of the Role
As a dedicated “solution sales” Business Development Manager, working in the Medical Devices industry sector vertical, you will be responsible for ensuring rapid pipeline development and sales in a medical device or related market(s). You will specifically hold expert knowledge and a proven track record of successfully selling information solutions to the medical device manufacturing industry. Ideally, you will have your own contacts for Tier 1, 2, and 3 customers. The role will also involve the co-ordination of efforts and collaboration with the Regulatory Services Team, and direct colleagues within Knowledge Solutions. You will be provided with a target prospect list, as well as bringing your contacts and knowledge of the market, to create a target prospect list to action to review and agree with BSI before any outreach is undertaken.
Responsibilities:
Locate and obtain inquiries and leads from prospective customers through methodical and thorough process and validation (including cold lead generation, inbound inquiries, and existing contact network exploitation)
Create clear professional commercial proposals with corresponding opportunities to present company products/services. Provide effective presentations and demonstrations.
Manage agreed discounts to eligible customers in line with company policies and relevant authority levels
Maintain liaison with company departments, and group business units to ensure that value-added to the customer is maximized
Maintain a detailed knowledge of the product and apply it effectively in understanding customer/client problems, diagnosing requirements, and offering solutions.
Plan revenue achievement by ensuring that the prospect process and pipeline are managed effectively and reported appropriately
Maintain salesforce.com (SFDC) and sales information/tracking system accordingly
To be successful in the role, you will have:
Timely completion of tasks, reports, and projects
Ability to plan and prioritize tasks according to importance to the client and business needs
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, internally, and externally, and at all levels of the business
Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
Computer literate and proficient in commonly used software tools such as Microsoft Office
The ability to develop and understand company-specific business systems
Active Learning — Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
Active listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate
Data Preparation — Understand how to compile reports from raw, unedited data
