Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager is a consultant and subject matter expert that works with the C.H.  Robinson sales organization on the generation of new business and retention of existing business related to their specific area of expertise (e.g., service or mode).  This role works with and build relationships with multiple groups internal to C.H. Robinson, including, but not limited to sales, account management, GAC’s, the office network, Regional Sales Directors, Customer Shared Services, and the executive team to generate leads and support the sales process for large or complex opportunities. Additionally, the Business Development Manager leads and/or participates in strategic account discussions, contract and pricing strategy directly with the office network and/or the customer directly.

Responsibilities:Actively participate in the development and execution of the Strategic Customer Selling StrategiesAlign budget expectations to channel profitability targetsDevelop strategic relationships and own engagements with executives of top accounts of global supply chain needsTo develop strategic account plans for key accountsDrive synergies across the region; act as bridge to drive global collaborationProvide strategic direction on pricing with product team for individual business profitabilityConduct account and CHR network profitabilityIn identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities to maximize revenues; generate and implement strategic initiatives, directions and best practicesStrictly implement other work from management

Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or universityLogistics or business related is preferred2+ years working experience in Sales job family in Freight Forwarding IndustryWillingness to travel 25-65% within assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications:Proven success in securing new Strategic customers in the regionExcellent communication and presentation skillsAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.Strong ability to persuade, motivate, and influence others.Knowledge of pricing, reporting, and analytical tools to setup the selling strategyAbility to build strong collaborative relationships across the Global Network for multination opportunities.Effective and excellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong decision making skills.Consultative and challenger sales approachAbility to use financial and operational data as a basis for decision making.Ability to work within a highly matrixed work environment.Effectively consult with multiple stakeholders and deadlines  Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and using the Internet.Fluency in English speaking, reading, and writing required
