Job SummaryBattelle has developed and matured a digital aperture platform that is designed to transform RF/SATCOM performance across a very broad frequency band. You will champion the sale of this technology into applicable government markets to include Tier 1 and 2 OEMs. Research, Development, Testing and Evaluation (RDT&E) funded programs will be the initial focus to compliment the Internal Research and Development Funding. The ideal candidate will have a deep mix of Electromagnetic spectrum technical acumen combined with core Business Development skills. You will have proven experience identifying market targets, experience with the federal budget process, call plan development, account planning, opportunity assessment and qualification, and aligning internal investment to customer markets.
There is a strong value proposition that can be offered to C4ISR OEMs. The technology is adaptable to varied C4ISR systems where insertion will provide architectural and performance enhancements enabling business and system performance trades for the OEM. Accordingly, you will be technically conversant in the software and hardware architectural drivers for varied C4ISR systems in all domains. You will be able to project to the technical team where the sustainable “stickiness” resides in the eyes of the market so make/buy decisions are weighted appropriately in both hardware and software solutions.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science-related technical field and 10 or more years of related experience; with at least 10 years of experience in DoD organizations, federal civil or defense business development or government contracting. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.Experience as RF engineer, Software Engineer, Systems Engineer or Electrical Engineer for Electromagnetic spectrum systems a plus. Existing network of clients and collaborators in the government and commercial RF/SATCOM/EW markets, and the ability to leverage these into qualified business opportunities.Past responsibilities required acknowledgment of technical acumen used in the execution of Business Development taskingExperience and knowledge of federal acquisition procedures and timelines.Proven track record winning opportunities with Federal and Commercial clients.Competitor knowledge in assigned market space and experience in competitive assessment; experience in developing large government proposals.Demonstrated ability to deliver technical presentations to internal and external customers.Proven track record supporting business development for an organization with over $100M in annual salesMust be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Active TS or TS/SCI security clearance
