Business Data Engineer

**ABOUT THIS POSITION**
We are looking for a proactive Business Data Engineer to lead the development and optimization of our data infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining high-performance Snowflake databases, ensuring seamless data integration, and enhancing data integrity across business operations. You will also collaborate closely with business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making and drive business outcomes. Your expertise will empower teams to leverage data more effectively, ultimately supporting the growth and optimization of our business functions.
From day one, you’ll be responsible for partnering with functional leaders and leading others in reviewing and analyzing data from key programs, building insight narratives, and will be influential in driving improvements in sales process, product and channel development, marketing, growth enablement and other areas of the business.
The ideal candidate will have a leadership background, led teams in areas of cross-functional management/project leadership, has a relevant degree in business, analytics or data science, is able to identify and articulate data trends and works well with others.
**WHAT YOU'LL DO**
**Database Development and Management**
+ Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases in Snowflake.
+ Optimize data models and database structures to support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence needs.
+ Ensure database performance, security, and availability using best practices and proactive monitoring.
+ Build and manage efficient ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into the Snowflake environment.
+ Write and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts using SQL, Python, and JavaScript.
+ Leverage Python and JavaScript for task automation, stored procedure development, and enhanced database functionality.
**Collaboration and Documentation**
+ Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
+ Maintain comprehensive documentation for database schemas, ETL workflows, and reporting processes.
+ Support end users by developing user-facing documentation and providing training on data tools and reports.
**Continuous Improvement**
+ Identify opportunities to improve database performance, efficiency, and scalability.
+ Collaborate on enhancements for existing reports and develop innovative reporting solutions as business needs evolve.
+ Stay informed of advancements in SQL, Snowflake, and visualization tools to implement best practices and modern solutions.
**WHAT YOU'LL NEED**
+ 5+ years of experience in database engineering, data management, or a related field.
+ Advanced expertise in SQL and hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehousing platforms.
+ Proficiency with Power BI and Excel for data visualization and reporting.
+ Demonstrated experience in ETL processes, data modeling, and optimization.
+ Strong programming knowledge in Python and JavaScript for data-related tasks and automation.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
+ Highly organized and capable of managing multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines and budgets.
BONUS POINTS
+ Master’s degree in analytics, data science, or a related field.
+ 3-5+ years of experience delivering advanced analytics solutions to Sales or Sales Operations organizations.
+ Experience in a healthcare, technology, or software industry environment.
+ Familiarity with advanced analytics tools, machine learning, or predictive modeling is a plus.
