Our Opportunity

Thales UK Under Water Systems (UWS), who is the leading provider in underwater sensor systems, have a great opportunity within the finance team for a Business Controller.

You will be responsible for providing timely financial management information and analysis for bids and projects and driving efficient delivery of key business information. You will have Project Business Control accounting responsibility for products for large scale defence projects, providing monthly financial reporting of projects, business prospects and be involved in Multi-Year Budgeting and Strategic Business Planning.

This role requires SC Clearance in which you will need to satisfy the criteria for application, please refer to the UKSV website for more information.

About you

You will be a qualified accountant with a professional accounting qualification or be part qualified and studying towards related qualification e.g. CIMA, ACCA (or equivalent), or have proven relevant experience within a financial environment ideally within Defence. You should have some experience operating as a Project Business Controller or equivalent project experience, working on large complex multi-entity programmes, products and services in a technical environment covering development and production activities. You will be a team player who can interface at all levels within an engineering and manufacturing Company.
