Overview
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for ensuring that operational data and reporting needs are met to facilitate successful delivery of projects.
ResponsibilitiesSpecific responsibilities include:
• Oversee reporting and analytics meant to provide operational management with the information needed to make decisions which lead to successful outcomes at the business and project level.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, validate, and document business requirements, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of needs and expectations to support informed decision-making and project planning.
• Document and create clear and comprehensive business process flows, ensuring transparency and traceability throughout project lifecycles.
• Identify relevant datasets and prepare standard and custom reports.
• Evaluate the potential impact of proposed process changes on existing operations, while offering mitigation strategies.
• Provide support with departmental budgeting, project modeling, planning and procedural change.
• Train users throughout various levels of the organization on operational reports, tools and procedures
• Assist cross-functional teams on matters involving project performance, forecasted costs, overhead distribution and other financial metrics.
• Analyze and interpret financial budgets and forecasts, offering strategies that may impact departmental budgeting and planning processes.
• Assist with analysis of financial trends and performance relative to expectations.
• Research external economic conditions and incorporate findings into financial models.
• Handle ad hoc requests as needed.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated track record of successfully identifying requirements, analyzing data and providing insights and solutions to support business decision-making.
• Advanced skill in using various data analysis/reporting tools, such as Excel, Power BI or other relevant software.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently, managing project initiatives from development to operational roll-out.
• Ability to own and maintain reports, projects and strategic initiatives.
• Strong Leadership skills.
• Creativity.
• Analytical thinking and mathematical skills.
• Accounting skills and statistical knowledge
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to facilitate interaction with cross-functional teams, articulation of complex information to diverse stakeholders and clear presentation of findings.
• Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications
• Engineering and construction industry experience preferred
Travel Requirements
• 5-10% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.
Physical/Work Environment Requirements
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Climbing stairs.
• Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
