The Business Analyst is responsible for gathering and documenting the current manual processes and the requirements in support of the agency’s efforts to automate the School Finance processes.

The Business Analyst is responsible for the set of tasks and techniques used to work as a liaison among stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies, and operations of an organization, and to recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.
Years of Relevant Experience:
7 plus years
Preferred Education:
4 year college degree or equivalent and IIBA-certified Business Analyst.
Role Description:
All roles specified in BA1 plus additional work experience, job knowledge, and IIBA certification.
The Business Analyst will review, create process maps, and define requirements for School Finance processes.
The goal is incremental migration of individual functions off of paper forms and legacy technologies AND leveraging/integrating with EMIS and/or EAS where appropriate.
The prioritization of implementation will take into consideration:
- Productivity gains from automation, including cost savings at the district and state level
- Risk mitigation necessary for legacy technologies-such as VMS- no longer supported
The initial priority for the BA is:
- To document the processes/work flow of the existing paper form-based systems identified by School Finance.
- To analyze the systems that need to be migrated off the legacy technologies.
