The Business Analyst is responsible for the set of tasks and techniques used to work as a liaison among stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies, and operations of an organization.
Complete Description:
The goal is to streamline the data gathering process related to historic resources by creating a database that will house all of the information available in Ohio State Historic Preservation Office’s (OSHPO) numerous tracking systems. The new system will need to be compatible with ODOT’s existing GIS system. The system will allow real-time access to information regarding historic resources throughout the state providing streamlined data gathering which will lead to better-informed decisions. Eventually the information will be available through GIS.
The business area (Planning Division) would like a Business Analyst who will work with ODOT offices, OSHPO staff and other stakeholders to identify the needs for this project. This is the specifications phase completed by the Business Analyst, ODOT and OSHPO SMEs. The Business Analyst should have experience with analyzing complex database structures and related interfaces.
Helpful but not necessary experience or knowledge beyond standard business analyst skills would include:

• GIS knowledge

7 plus years
Preferred Education:
4 year college degree or equivalent and IIBA-certified Business Analyst.
