BASIC FUNCTION:

In collaboration with the Dean and other A&S Dean’s Office staff, carry out planning and implementation of temporary instruction staffing, graduate teaching assistants, coordination of course schedules. Provide budget and productivity analyses for faculty workload and temporary instruction needs. Perform ad hoc data analyses. Prepare presentations and reports.

Duties and Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and implement, in collaboration with the Dean and other A&S Dean’s Office staff and departments, assignments and contracts for Per-course instructors (PTF & faculty overload) and graduate teaching assistants (GTA).

Work with department chairs and program directors to analyze faculty course assignments and workload and to plan and implement course schedules.

Manage the preparation, execution, and review process for all A&S course scheduling. Monitor enrollments and departmental temporary instruction allocation each semester.

Manage, in collaboration with Director, Business, the A&S instruction budget, including identifying PTF and GTA and undergraduate teaching assistants (TA) needs of departments, projecting annual costs, processing contracts, monitoring and reconciling temporary instruction budget reports.

Conduct workload and productivity analyses of full-time and part-time faculty, and GTA including tracking course releases, FMLA releases, and sabbatical leaves.

Make recommendations for workload efficiencies and departmental temporary instruction budgets.

Serve as liaison for Interfolio and RPT processes, coordinate RPT process information sessions for faculty in collaboration with Associate Deans.

Serve as liaison for departmental chairs on personnel issues, consulting Associate Deans as needed.

Serve as resource for departmental chairs on University Manual and Labor Relations (e.g., PTF contract; AAUP CBA; GAU).

Coordinate academic program review and accreditation review timelines and site visits, in collaboration with departments, Dean and A&S Associate Deans.

Represent the College and administer special projects as assigned by the Dean.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform other duties as assigned.

LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:

Personal computers and printers; word processing, database management and spreadsheet software. Excel.

Required Qualifications REQUIRED:

1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.

2. Demonstrated experience with data analysis.

3. Demonstrated experience with budgeting and cost projection.

4. Demonstrated familiarity with general university organization (including academic rules, regulations, and practices).

5. Demonstrated knowledge of faculty and staff issues.

6. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

7. Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

8. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

9. Demonstrated experience with financial systems, human resource systems, and student records systems.

10. Demonstrated experience with Excel.

11. Demonstrated knowledge of collective bargaining practices and procedures.

12. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

Preferred Qualifications PREFERRED:

1. Master’s degree from an accredited university or college in one of the disciplines of the College of Arts and Sciences.

2. Minimum five years of experience as a faculty member and/or academic administrator.

3. Minimum five years of combined experience with budget analysis, cost productivity analysis, and budget projection.

4. Minimum five years of experience with enrollment management.

5. Demonstrated recent (within the last three years) engagement in professional development regarding trends and practices in higher education administration.

6. Demonstrated event planning experience.

7. Demonstrated knowledge of specific URI policies and procedures.

8. Demonstrated working knowledge of Power BI.

9. Demonstrated Microsoft Excel certification.
