To be responsible for children’s safety and assist the Bus Driver at all times.
ResponsibilitiesAssist the children getting on and off the bus, getting seated and buckled up.
While the bus is in motion keep the children under control which ensures the Bus Driver's ability to concentrate on driving.
When the bus stops at the Center, the monitor will unbuckle the children, get them off the bus and take them to various classrooms. The monitor will make eye contact with the classroom teachers or communicate with teachers regarding the child’s presence.
Work closely with the Bus Driver and be part of the team.
The Bus Driver will inform the Bus Monitor whenever there are snow days and the bus run is canceled.
Monitor will inform both the Bus Driver and Center if she/he is sick.
The Monitor will also attend staff meetings as requested.
The Monitor will assist in substituting when asked.
The Monitor will report any happening on the bus to the Bus Driver.
Follow all program policies and procedures, i.e. confidentiality, release of children to authorized persons, discipline, report of abuse, transportation, etc.
Must enjoy children and have the ability to relate positively to children and their families
Red Cross First Aid Training (every 3 years)
CPR Training (Yearly)
Annual physical
Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive required
