POSITION SUMMARY:

Operates CNC Plasma/Flame burn table with milling spindle produce plate parts to customer specifications.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSABILITIES:

Responsible for operation, simple maintenance and care of, Kinetic K5000 programmable burning machineDirect a crew in executing part cutting priority, communication with outside departments on progress.Able to read and interpret part detail drawings as well as check all part features after cutting.Lay-out, cut to correct size, select the proper materials from stock, and be efficient and economical.  Keep accurate record of material cuts.Perform other tasks within personal skill and ability within the prefab dept. as neededPrefer Kinetic experience but will consider other burning machine experience

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: 6-10 employees

 

INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employeesAbility to follow written and oral instructions, regarding daily functions, safety rules and regulations, and possible hazardous conditions.Ability to give instruction to others assigned to assist on projects.

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to read and interpret drawings and sketches and transferring this information for layout work on the plate to be burned. Ability to learn and read and understand CNC codes.Hold functional knowledge of types, sizes, and grades of material and capable of maintaining material inventory and good record keeping.Full knowledge of safety precautions, gas pressures, burning tips, etc., related to material thickness and applications.Capable of crane operations and rigging of plate and structural steel.Strong math capabilities including calculating material weights.Understanding of decimal equivalents of fractions, can convert fractions to decimals, can convert inches to millimeters and millimeters to inches

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

5 years of experience with Kinetic burning machines OR Peddinghaus beam line equipment but will consider other burning machine experience.CNC programming experience preferred.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: N/A

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Ability to lift, carry 60Lbs., or maneuver objects, difficult objects will be lifted with the assistance of mechanical means or additional manpower.Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, twist, pull, push, grip, and climb.Capable of climbing stepping up onto burn table and up ladder to material trailers.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

May be exposed to excessive noise, welding gases and fumes, and varying weather conditions. Proper protective equipment will be provided as necessary.
