Building Systems Engineer

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Building Systems Engineer to join our growing team.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State.

Supports the installation, maintenance, and integrity of the Building Management Systems (BMS), equipment control and communication systems, and end-user device.

The following essential job functions are performed as a Building Systems Engineer:

Configures software and resolves technical problems. Creates user interfaces within BMS and bridges mechanical equipment to BMS interface. Install and terminate data lines for connecting equipment to existing networks. Performs systems maintenance tasks, such as system back-up, recovery and file maintenance. Schedules, installs, and tests system software upgrades. Monitors and maintains software licensing and maintenance agreements. Works on projects / resolves matters of moderate complexity in an ownership role. May perform server/networking equipment/communication equipment setups. Attention to detail and organization are critical components of this job. Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Must have 2-3 years’ experience in IT or Building Engineering with an interest in both. Bachelor’s Degree in a technical, engineering field required. Must have advanced knowledge of building integration and management systems, IP access controls, IP camera controls, Microsoft operating systems (server and client) and networking. Understanding of mechanical equipment control interfaces (air compressors, HVAC, etc) Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and occasionally be on call. Must have strong customer service skills and proficient oral and written communication skills.  Must be accommodating and flexible while maintaining priorities.  Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Wage range for this role is between $68,000 - $145,000 annually plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
