Job Description
Energetics is seeking a Building Decarbonization subject matter expert to join our team! This part-time role is a great fit for candidates with expertise in the building science field, looking to contribute to cutting-edge studies and analysis that help make more buildings more efficient and resilient throughout the United States.
The position is located in Energetics’ Columbia, MD office, (or remote for the right candidate) with occasional travel to attend client meetings (e.g., Washington, DC).
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collect and analyze data to identify trends and make informed decisions. This includes statistical and econometric analysis, and understanding complex systems.Effectively convey complex scientific information to diverse audiences. This includes technical writing, data visualization, and oral presentation.Advanced building technology policy analysis.Develop and support engagement with experts on building science topics.Understanding of existing and potential building codes and standards.Develop new approaches for engaging the building decarbonization market.Analysis of the role of renewables in building decarbonization.Work on novel approaches to building decarbonization.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical or scientific field.At least 20 years of relevant experience in the field of building science (can include a combination of advanced degree and relevant work experience).Mathematical, and deductive reasoning skills.Meticulous attention to detail.Thorough understanding of building science and approaches to building decarbonization.Thorough understanding of legislative and regulatory processes related to building science.Excellent communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, and written).Excellent organization and time management skills.Comfortable multitasking on time-sensitive tasks without diminished quality of work.Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.Ability to effectively self-manage multiple tasks.Ability to work within a diverse team.Strong interest in reducing climate impacts.U.S. citizenship is required to meet federal contract requirements.Occasionally travel to attend client meetings (e.g., Washington, DC).PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
