Building’s & Grounds Supervisor
Bethpage Campus
FLSA Status: Non -Exempt
Primary Purpose of Job
To participate in planning and execution of complex projects and oversee the daily operations of the Facilities Department for the Bethpage campus with minimal supervision.
Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalency required.
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience required with extensive field experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and other related building trades. Four (4) years preferred.
• Ability to work at various heights while using extension ladders to access roofs, lighting and other various items that require the use of ladders.
• Knowledge of the OPWDD regulations and experience working in the environment, regulated by the OPWDD, preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA and EHS guidelines.
• Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and nights.
• Ability to be on call and to respond to emergencies during the off hours.
• Ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
• Clean, valid NYS driver’s license.
Essential Functions
• Inspect, troubleshoot, perform emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections and all other duties required to maintain the integrity of the systems, as well as power washing, furniture moving, landscaping and snow removal and assist others, as assigned.
• Ensure that all areas surrounding building used by our employees, visitors and people supported are maintained in a manner to ensure maximum safety, efficiency and cleanliness.
• · Perform all cleaning tasks and work requests as requested.
• Utilize and maintain agency’s work order system (Worx HUB and submit monthly report to the Facilities manager.
• Work with outside contractors, as needed.
• Provide Supervision to Maintenance Aides
• Performing various small-to-medium size maintenance and installation projects that require higher than average expertise in various maintenance and construction trades.
• Advise the Assistant Director of any observed issues that require attention (repairs, malfunctions, and safety and fire safety issues).
• Coach the Maintenance Workers at the job location on various techniques, maintenance procedures, and safety precautions.
• Complete Seasonal Maintenance Projects
• Follow and complete all schedules as listed in the maintenance manual required for programs and certifications
• Ensure that all buildings and grounds are maintained in a manner that maximizes the health and safety of the individuals and staff.
• Assists Office Managers with room coordination and meeting setups.
• Provide assistance to all other programs as needed.
• Other duties, as assigned
This is a full-time position (Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm; 1 hour lunch) in our Bethpage Location
