About the role The Builder Sales Specialist is responsible for implementing sales strategies for an assigned region. This position will support the sales team creating demand at builders (single and multi-family), developers, and other channel partners for Leviton’s residential products, including but not limited to, Leviton Load Center, Decora Evolve, Decora Smart, Lighting Controls, Leviton Residential Lighting and Controls, EVSE, and Home Networking Products. The focus of this role is to increase market penetration, improve product mix to drive profitable growth, and achieve the region’s sales goals. In addition, the Builder Sales Specialist will coordinate with sales personnel and Regional Sales Directors to maintain relationships with contractors, low voltage installers, and distributors. Responsibilities Establish and execute the territory’s sales strategy within the context of Leviton’s broader business strategy. Develop a comprehensive territory plan in conjunction with Sales Operations and track progress in Microsoft Dynamics. Conduct field visits to assist the sales team driving demand for Leviton products. Focus on new products and those that increase margin contribution. Coordinate the use of internal Leviton resources to develop key business opportunities. Guide the builder program from demand creation to a sale through all stakeholders within and external to Leviton. Assist to drive sales outside the assigned geography if directed. Ensure Leviton representation at industry trade shows and other similar events as directed. Collaborate and communicate with the other Distribution sales teams (reps and RSD) to ensure alignment of target accounts, responsibilities, and accountability. Provide weekly and/or monthly reports to their manager highlighting achievements, recommendations, and support required. Qualifications Demonstrate strong leadership, relationship-building, and relationship management skills. Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills Strong negotiation skills Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is required, specifically: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dynamics, and Outlook Ability to communicate with various levels of the Leviton organization, ranging from top level executives to field personnel. Strong business acumen Education & Experience BA/BS in Business and/or Marketing 8+ years of experience in selling and/or business development, preferably in the electrical, builder, or alarm industry. Experience with calling directly upon builders and/or electrical contractors, low voltage installers. Travel Must possess the ability to maintain flexibility to travel (50% of time or greater) This position reports to the Director of National Builder Sales.
