Role description:

Leading Business Unit towards long-term high performance by delivering value to our (global) clients. Powered by our People in close collaboration with international counterparts and colleagues in the Growth, Ops, Finance and People organization. Manage a group or team of professionals, mostly leaders of teams. 

Create European sustainable operations & advisory unit. Accelerate implementation of GEC and Digital EIA in EIA projects. 

Financial Impact : 70 mln annual revenue at 12-15% EBITA %. 

Governance: Directly lead 5 BUL2 and indirectly 400-500 Arcadians across our Europe organization and growing towards 20% work done by Global Excellence Centres in Manilla & India. 

This role reports Reports to the EU BA Director Resilience.

This role is a European scope/location, position can be filled in any location where Arcadis has a legal entity.

Role accountabilities:

Strategic Direction and Transformation (15%) 

Identify and communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the business area or department; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision, and values   Communicate and build teams and collaborations across Europe and internationally with GEC and other Arcadis’ entities. 

Commercial, financial and target performance (30%) 

Own operational and financial performance of BU in line with overall Arcadis’ strategy and targets of the BA on country and European level.   Continuously improve BA’s competitive position through strong client focus, investments in capabilities (e.g., technical expertise, commercial skills), drive in cost competitiveness and talent management.    Manage budget plans for the department: EBITA / Margin / Tender Success rates/ Cost management/ Billability (sustainable) / Income earned outside NL Market. 

People Management (30%) 

Promote a culture of high-quality delivery, customer service excellence and professionalism   Build high performance teams and collaborations internationally with GEC and other Arcadis entities.   Monitor and action upon Your Voice results and attrition numbers. 

Stakeholder management (10%) 

Set up and maintain international collaboration, including GEC collaboration and managing GBA Senior Management.    Identify and manage stakeholders up to and including management level, finding out their needs, issues, and concerns and reacting to them by leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions. 

External Focus (5%) 

Maintaining Contacts & Project controls in European Client base.

Qualifications & Experience:

A leader with an academic degree and demonstrated experience in leading and growing a Business Unit across different regions and nationalities.  Demonstrated significant leadership capability and at least 10 years of managerial experience, including leading other leaders.   Experience operating and leading a matrix organization with complex Stakeholder Management.  Strongtrong track record in international collaboration and/or in large multinationals. 
Brings necessary technical knowledge & experience with commercial management.   English business proficient, plus one native European language.  Knowledge and experience in the fields of Environmental Social Planning & Advisory / Sustainable Consultancy.
