ROLE DETAILS

Role Overview

This role forms the integral link between Old Mutual and its base of intermediaries, both internally and externally. You will independently manage assigned intermediaries and be responsible for promoting Old Mutual products and brands to Intermediaries and clients via the Intermediaries. You will develop and implement Intermediary strategies and account plans. You will support and advise on all product- related aspects of Old Mutual Corporate products to Intermediaries.

Key Result Areas

Markets Old Mutual services, products and brand to Intermediaries and clients via intermediaries.Develops and finds new business opportunities to grow Old Mutual Corporates market share.Assists in needs analysis and product selection.Develops intermediary account strategy and plans in conjunction with Regional ManagerProactively identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within client portfolio.Ensure that the Intermediaries and clients in the portfolio are serviced at all times.Meets all business targets as set out.Builds and own the relationships with all intermediaries on the panel.Persuades intermediaries to sell and recommend Old Mutual products and services to clients.

Requirements: Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Matric3-year tertiary qualificationFAIS compliance would be advantageousMinimum of 18 months experience in Employee BenefitsMinimum of 18 months experience in Experience in broker environmentsFinancial services experience preferredUnderstanding of Old Mutual customers and distribution channels advantageousExcellent communication skills and presentation skillsKnowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Word and CRM

Assists in planning and implementing the pursuit of strategic opportunities by cultivating partnerships or other commercial relationships or by identifying new markets for the entity's products or services.

ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development

Monitor and assess sales and market data for a specific geographic region that will assist management in identifying areas in the market where business can be developed.

Customer Needs Clarification

Set clear objectives for each sales call or meeting; use standard materials to make a presentation to the customer; and ask relevant questions to evaluate the customer's level of interest and to identify and respond to areas requiring further information or explanation.

Customer Relationship Development / Prospecting

Develop and implement a customer contact plan to communicate product launches and engage the potential customers in relevant sales campaigns to build new relationships. Act as first point of contact for customer queries and complaints and resolve them, referring complex issues to others and ensuring that the customer receives an appropriate response.

Sales Opportunities Creation

Identify potential customers by obtaining information, referrals, and recommendations from existing customers and other contacts and/or through participation in trade shows and conferences.

Sell Customer Propositions

Identify the products or services that best meet the customer's stated needs, use personal expertise to propose quantities and product configurations, explain the selection to the customer, and invite the customer to make a purchase at the standard price/terms and conditions of sale.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Data

Monitor team members' use of the CRM system, identifying and resolving standard issues and escalating them to a senior manager as appropriate.

Customer Relationship Management / Account Management

Develop and implement a customer contact plan to communicate product launches and engage the customers in relevant sales campaigns. Act as first point of contact for customer queries and complaints and resolve them, referring complex issues to others and ensuring that the customer receives an appropriate response.

Operational Compliance

Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.

Personal Capability Building

Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
