Broker - Property Aon South Africa is recruiting a Property Broker in our Broking Division, based on a hybrid basis from our Head Office in Sandton. The role of a Property Broker is to work closely with Client Managers, possess the technical expertise, to strategise, facilitate, negotiate and manage property, breakdown, interruption, political violence and Sasria insurance covers. What the day will look like Working in partnership with client facing colleagues in understanding the coverage needs of clients and how property insurance dovetail with other product lines Advise on collection of relevant risk information and analyse risk information for risk transfer solutions Responsible for identifying appropriate channels for risk placement based on security guidelines and other requirements Responsible for issuing broking notes, policies and endorsements for existing renewals and new placements Negotiates terms and conditions on placement with carriers Provides technical advice to colleagues and clients (when required) on placement design, available coverage and capacity, pricing, potential coverage improvements, market changes and make recommendations within scope of responsibility Possess an awareness of larger Aon / department / team strategies Builds positive relationships within the market and with relevant Aon network and other internal stakeholders (Aon Re, Risk Consulting, New Business etc) Responsible for maintaining awareness of all available Aon SPS products and utilising them appropriately Provide assistance to more senior brokers in respect of the renewal process for more sophisticated accounts Maintains vital management information and completes required administrative tasks Apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues Promote the Aon brand How this opportunity is different Our brokers are experts in their field and handle a variety clients and program structures. A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent A Bachelor’s degree is preferable Must be registered as a representative (RE5) with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS Act Must be registered as a licentiate with the IISA Knowledge. Computer literate with advanced know-how in MS Word and Excel Extensive knowledge of the South African and international property short-term insurance markets An in-depth strategic knowledge of industry and business strategies and company goals will be advantageous Very good knowledge of property type policy wordings including Political violence and Sasria Skills and Attributes. Possesses advanced analytical, technical and problem-solving skills and abilities Develop professional expertise Ability to communicate & present effectively Good interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to work effectively in and with teams Be diligent and respect confidentiality Have a high work ethic and must have the ability to function effectively under pressure Be a team player, have the ability to build good relationships, support and actively participate in and contribute to any team initiatives Experience.
