BRME Risk Infrastructure, VP III - State Street Global Advisor

The Business Risk Management Executive (BRME) team is a first line function that partners with State Street Global Advisors business teams to properly identify, assess and manage operational and regulatory risk. The Risk Infrastructure Program Manager will play an important role on this team, responsible for SSGA execution of core risk programs such as RCSA and SOC1 and managing key, global engagement points with business leaders, ERM, Compliance, and Audit.  Seeking professionals with 10+ years of experience in operational risk, compliance or audit with a focus on risk assessment, monitoring,  and effective program design and leadership.

What you will be responsible for

As a Risk Infrastructure Program Manager you will

Lead the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and SOC1 programs for SSGA; implement any required methodology change(s) and ensure adequate resourcing and subject matter experts are engaged across the three lines of defense to adequately assess the risk and control environment and challenge assumptionsLead risk reporting for senior leaders and governance committees to ensure content is clear, prioritized, and that key themes, preventative action(s), and exceptions/outliers are highlighted for review and actionLead and drive key BRME engagement points across the SSGA business and other 2nd and 3rd stakeholdersSupport the BRME and global risk team in driving the transformation agenda for key strategic priorities – for risk programs and/or business growthMaintain deep subject matter knowledge related to business line activities, operating model, industry and regulatory trends, as well as business and technology risks; efficiently and effectively apply this insight into BRME programs and reportingSchedule, oversee and deliver comprehensive program management, including resource allocation, planning assignments, and providing overall direction to the teamEngage with partners in the 2nd and 3rd line of defense to coordinate program planning and improve risk coverage and limit any potential overlap or duplication of workEstablish and maintain productive relationships with key business function leaders; instill confidence by demonstrating credibility and expertise on core programs and servicesEducate business stakeholders on controls and related programs

10+ years of financial services experience with a large financial services firm or advisory/consulting firm including experience as an internal auditor, public accountant, or risk or compliance officerExperience in risk management, regulatory compliance, or control programsIndependent strategic thinker with an understanding of regulatory, operational, and technology risks in financial services, preferably within investment management function(s)Strong organizational awareness with ability to facilitate and resolve conflicts; ability to make informed, risk optimized decisions under time pressureAbility to manage and coach teams to produce efficient and high quality deliverablesAbility to collaborate and drive results within the organizationExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to adapt to various situations and audiencesKnowledge of common risk management frameworks and methodologiesDemonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work on large global cross-functional projectsStrong ability to lead through influenceExcellent skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and process mapping toolsSelf-motivated professional with the ability to work within deadlines and meet goalsProfessional certification in auditing preferred, e.g., CIA, CPA, CFSAExperience working with remote offshore and regional teams

Salary Range:

$135,000 - $210,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
