Job Description:
****To qualify for this role, you must be able to deploy and be on long-term assignment on Kwajalein Island in the Marshall Islands.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Performs essential masonry tasks required in the construction and renovation of family housing units. The incumbent must exercise good interpersonal and technical skills while adhering to required industry and safety standards.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares construction sites for masonry work by setting up forms and ensuring proper alignment.Mixes, applies, and spreads mortar using a variety of tools and techniques.Lays bricks, blocks, and other masonry units to construct walls, foundations, and other structures.Ensures the structural integrity of masonry work through regular inspections and adherence to project specifications.Cuts and shapes materials such as bricks and blocks to fit specific areas using hand tools, power tools, and equipment.Ensures compliance with project drawing and specifications and adheres to safety regulations.Collaborates with other construction professionals to ensure project requirements are met.Assists in the installation of formwork and reinforcement materials.Works directly with project managers and other construction professionals to review plans and make recommendations for improvements.Assists in coordinating specific project schedules by working with other masons, laborers, and required construction resources. Reviews and verifies materials to ensure conformance to project specifications.Serves as part of a functional team or works independently to complete assignments according to scheduled deadlines.Performs other responsibilities associated with this position, as appropriate.KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Project Manager, Project Superintendent, Supervising Iron Worker, Lead Iron WorkerEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
2+ years of related work experience in masonry, including foundation preparation, mortar mixing and application, brick/block laying, structural integrity checks, and material cutting and shaping.SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of masonry tools and equipmentAccuracy, attention to detail, consistency, and clarity in conformance with required job duties and safety standardsPhysical Requirements:
Physically must be able to lift up to 75 pounds to overhead position.Must be able to push and pull up to 50 pounds.Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. Able to work dayshift or nightshift. Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather condition. Ability to Relocate: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.Minimum Clearance Required to Start:
