Summary: Provides patient support as a clinical navigator to ensure continuous quality of care; assesses and evaluates all patients for navigational needs; provides individual assistance to patients, families and care givers throughout the course of screening, diagnosis treatment and/or survivorship; navigates patients through the health care system, including providers’ offices, hospitals, insurance and payment systems, patient-support organizations and other components of the health care system; accesses needed resources and services to allow patients and patient families to move through the spectrum of cancer care into a long-term survivorship; coordinates with internal services and outreach programs to facilitate timely cancer care; works with the resource center to provide necessary patient education and training required by the care team; serves as a resource for hospitals, screening facilities, county health units, state and Indigenous health departments, patients, physicians, lay public, volunteers statewide and graduate students for information regarding Roswell Park.

Salary range for this position is $58,247 - $74,135 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications:Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in community, patient or customer-oriented support, or oncology support activities; or
2. Associate’s degree in a health-related field and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience in community, patient or customer-oriented support, or oncology support activities; or
3. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of six (6) years of full-time experience in community, patient or customer-oriented support or oncology support activities.

NOTE: Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experiences:

Experience working in a Breast Imaging Department or other clinical settingKnowledge of Breast Anatomy and Terminology Experience working with a Mammography tracking system.Customer Service experience Experience with scheduling radiology exams Any advanced certifications
