Job Summary
The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for setting up and breaking down each morning’s breakfast buffet including keeping all items stocked, light to moderate food preparation, responding to guest inquiries and requests, and maintaining a safe and clean breakfast area at all times.
Essential Functions:

+ Maintain breakfast buffet to hotel standards before, during and after breakfast including:
+ Set up all buffet items such as fruits, breads, cereals and baked goods, and ensure all items remain well-stocked throughout the morning.
+ Replenish silverware, sugar caddies and condiments.
+ Refill beverage containers.

+ Maintain the safety, cleanliness, and appearance of the buffet area at all times and in preparation for the next day including:
+ Wiping down buffet counter when needed.
+ Wiping down breakfast table after each guest use.
+ Cleaning buffet appliances such as coffee maker, toaster, and waffle maker as needed.
+ Sweep and mop as needed and at the conclusion of breakfast each day.
+ Empty trash cans as needed and bring to appropriate location.

+ Light to moderate food preparation such as:
+ Preparing eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, and pancakes.
+ Washing and cutting fruit.
+ Assembling yogurt parfaits.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Respond to guest requests such as the location of breakfast items, replenishment needs, equipment malfunctions, and dietary questions.
+ Report mechanical problems, maintenance deficiencies, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
+ Follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, and report any defective, damaged or lost PPE including equipment that does not fit properly to management.
+ Follow all safety procedures and be able to recognize and act in emergency situations.
+ Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
+ Maintain a hospitable service atmosphere at all times.
Education and Experience:
+ High School Degree or equivalent preferred.
+ 6-12 months of previous serving and/or hospitality experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
+ Ability to arrive to work on time when scheduled.
+ Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
+ Ability to read, write and speak the English language sufficient to understand menus, special promotions, and communicate with guests to explain breakfast offerings.
+ Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
+ Ability to operate buffet appliances such as coffee maker, toaster oven, waffle maker.
+ Physically able to operate cleaning equipment such as mops, brooms, and spray bottles.
+ Organization and time management, ability to consistently manage workload as assigned.
+ Ability to operate in a 7-day per week, 24-hour per day business setting.
