Brand Paid Media Manager

Position Summary

The Brand Paid Media Manager is a highly skilled, creative and results driven media specialist that will play a key role in all phases of paid media planning and execution across a variety of advertising and marketing campaigns, from traditional to digital and social media, both internally and via agency partners. They will also assist in shaping amplification of Xcel Energy’s sponsorship portfolio, creative and brand activation opportunities. This role requires a collaborative individual with agency and/or internal media strategy and buying experience for integrated marketing campaigns. Creating impactful and innovative campaigns that will resonate with diverse audience across multiple channels are key to success in this position. 


Essential Responsibilities

Plan and manage execution of multiple paid media campaigns including programmatic and digital, audio and video, paid social, search, and partner platforms.

Promote the brand engagement strategy, including media planning, buying and execution resulting in impactful campaigns grounded in KPIs. Responsible for campaign budget and reconciliation.

Influence and manage paid campaigns promoting company’s strategic partnerships portfolio including professional sports properties and high-profile local events.

Partner closely with Sponsorships Account Manager to leverage local sponsorships’ IP Rights and ensure strategic integration with creative paid media opportunities.

Coordinate with external partners (e.g., advertising agency, media properties and social platforms, events consultants and sponsorship property partners) to deliver media activations and seamless integration, as required.

Owns execution against media specs, includes influencing creative briefs, creative development process and trafficking materials. Coordinates amplification across internal channels, as needed (e.g., content marketing, social, digital).

Collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts to obtain necessary approvals on strategy briefs, creative materials, and media plans.

Review performance data to identify meaningful insights, takeaways, and recommendations that are grounded in KPIs and focused on audience, content, and channel.

Manage multiple campaigns and projects while meeting deadlines and quality standards.

Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, leveraging insights to drive creative innovation and differentiation.

Adapt marketing strategies to paid media channels and tactics that fit the unique dynamics of regional markets, ensuring relevance and resonance with local audiences.

Provide regular paid media reporting to integrated team, benchmark and optimize based on performance and best practices.

Centralize and maintain creative assets. Route content for legal review.


Minimum Requirements

- BA in Advertising, Marketing, Communications or related field or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.

- 3-5 years of experience managing projects, preferably in a consulting or agency environment.

- Well-versed in most or all of the following: design, media, video production and advertising projects, sponsorship and customer engagement, digital strategy projects.

- Understanding of project management methodology including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk, develop detailed work plans and specifications and run team meetings.

- Ability to work on multiple projects and manage multiple project stakeholders simultaneously.

- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to solve complex problems with keen instincts and organizational experience.

Preferred Skills

Working knowledge of agency disciplines, process, and workflow.

Previous experience with brand, marketing, social, and/or sponsorship/event activation teams.

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $75,000.00 to $102,000.00 per year
