Branch Manager
The Branch Manager develops new client and business opportunities while maintaining and building upon current relationships. In addition, the individual will provide overview and counsel on project organization, budget, work schedules, and legal and client considerations. They are responsible for Branch and project staffing as well as encouraging and motivating subordinates.
Salary: Starting at $150k - $200k+ Job Responsibilities: Own overall Profit and Loss performance including management and control of budgets, utilization, collections, and cost control.Responsible for overall Branch Safety and works closely with Regional Safety Director.Ensure branch-wide safety while working closely with Regional Safety Director.Actively participate on the Western Leadership Council (WLC) collaborating with other leaders to execute a strategic plan and build an outline of tactics to accomplish each component, specifically but not exclusively as each relates to marketing, business development, technical training, research, budgeting, financial expenditures, and monetary and nonmonetary investments.Contribute to sales innovations, strategic business development and overall project profitability, in alignment with the company’s strategic goals.Actively coach UES personnel to ensure that all department personnel are properly trained, supervised and equipped with the necessary tools and equipment to foster their success and growth both personally and professionally.Project a positive image of the Company and colleagues at client negotiations, conferences, technical meetings, and within the office, and serves as a steward of UES and of a safe and secure work environment for all UES employees.Sign UES’s standard contract terms per the UES Delegation of Authority (DOA). Coordinate approval by a corporate officer and legal review of contract forms and/or modifications of UES’s standard contract terms.Ensure all work assigned to the Branch meets professional liability and contractual obligations. All technical work must be conducted so that the standard of care is met.Deals directly with clients and prospective clients in business development, proposals, contracts or agreements, and technical matters.Maintain fleet management oversight in coordination with Regional Fleet Director and Branch Fleet and Facilities manager.Survey marketplace to identify both new clients and new markets for Company services.Partner with Regional HR Director to plan and supervises Staff Development program.Motivate subordinates to accept increasing responsibility and develops viable candidates for Project Management.Prepare performance evaluations for direct staff and reviews performance evaluation data with department managers for others in the Branch prior and subsequent to performance feedback discussions.Active engagement in 2 professional organizations that are applicable to our industry – with one being a leadership role (i.e., Board, Officer, Committee, etc.).Travel as needed.Qualifications: Experience managing an operation with $5M+ in revenueBachelor of Science in Engineering, Business, Construction Management or Physical Sciences preferred. Advanced degree is highly desirable.10+ years of experience in applied Engineering, Construction Management, or Physical Sciences including 5+ years in project management and supervisory responsibilities.Knowledge and experience in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, or environmental consulting business Strong planning, organizing, and delegating skills to drive branch and region results.Experience staffing, directing, and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.Ability to motivate, train, and earn staff respect through technical and managerial competence and abilities.Excellent written and oral communication skills.About UES
