Branch Manager
Branch Manager Requisition Number 2024-7796 Overview

Directs and manages the overall daily operations of a branch/unit under the control of the organization with the primary concern for a comprehensive, outcome-driven program and service delivery, supervision and training of staff (direct and indirect reports), personnel issues, management of a facility, manage a budget, actively engage and support a community relations, volunteers, and membership administration. Represents the Club in the community and builds a professional and positive image of The Salvation Army implementing program services that advance the mission of The Salvation Army. 

Responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities (30%) 

Plans, coordinates and directs all youth activities and programs for the Boys & Girls Club; plans, directs, recruits, and supervises all program staff and volunteers; trains and instructs employees in the proper methods and procedures; conducts performance evaluations & provides salary & hiring/firing recommendations. Plans, prepares, and administers the Departmental Budget; reviews, monitors and approves expenditures for the Department to ensure compliance with budget constraints. In absence of an Operations Manager would supervise Data Coordinator. Oversees the Boys & Girls Club member management system and the accuracy of the data. (Management) 

BGC Program Evaluation/Outcome Responsibilities (50%) 

Monitors and approves the organization’s program services and assures achievement and advancement of its mission and goals. Establishes Branch programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and that create a club environment that facilitates achievement of Youth Development Outcomes Plans, develops, implements and evaluates Branch overall programs, services and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests; compiles regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance and participation. Lead the strategic planning and operation of Club, to support and advance the organizational mission of the Boys and Girls Clubs and The Salvation Army. Develop goals in conjunction with the Salvation Army Battle Plan. (Strategic Planning) Assists in the development of budgets for each program as well as for special projects and administers such expenditures. Maintains an environment facilitating the achievement of targeted youth development outcomes. Promotes and stimulates an increase in Club membership by visiting school functions, parades and festivals in the neighborhood. Develops alternative solutions to increase membership and participation to meet goals. (Problem Solving) Increase visibility of Club programs, services and activities and maintain good public relations. Monitor membership of the clubs so that it reflects the population make-up of the areas served.

Program Implementation Responsibilities (20%)

Serves as Transportation Director for in-city and out-of-state events; drives Salvation Army vehicle to transport youth to events when needed.Participates in the implementation of programs and activities as needed. Coordinates arrangements with outside groups desiring to rent the Community Center. Ensures the delivery of outcome driven programs that align with the developmental needs of all young people. (Job Knowledge) Advertises and motivates participation in Youth of Year program and ensures youth participate fully by ensuring Youth of Year applications are submitted in a professional manner to Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Helps to ensure a judging process that is fair and helpful to youth.

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 

Education and Experience: 

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in business, accounting, or social services 

and 

Three (3) years’ progressively responsible experience in the management, administration and operation of a Boys & Girls Club, with at least two (2) years in a leadership capacity 

or 

Five (5) years’ experience working in a similar youth-serving organization 

or 

any equivalent combination of education/experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. 

 

Certifications: 

Valid State Driver’s License (CDL is preferred) 

First Aid and C.P.R. Certification (or ability to obtain) 

State Licensed Director’s Credentials (preferred) 

Tier 1 BGCA Certified Trainer (or ability to obtain)
