**Job Summary**
Pioneer Theatre Company is hiring for Box Office Cashier. They are responsible for answering phones, selling tickets, and answering customer questions. This position should expect a part-time schedule with shifts from 10AM to 6PM Monday through Friday. When productions are open to the public, those hours would extend to later in the evening and weekends based on performance schedule. In addition, PTC also manages the ticketing for the University of Utah Theatre Department.
**Responsibilities**
Duties would include but are not limited to:
1. Using our ticketing software to sell and exchange tickets for customers.
2. Collects money and returns change to customers.
3. Counts money collected during shift, balances it with tickets or items sold, and submits to supervisor for review.
4. Provides directions and answers general questions about parking permits and policies, merchandise, theater productions, etc.
5. Opens and closes facilities at beginning and end of shifts.
6. Cleans work area by sweeping floors, wiping off machines and counters.
7. May assist with special events and projects.
8. Clerical tasks such as answering phones, responding to mail, or filing.
9. Fulfilling these same responsibilities for the U of U Theatre Department.
**Minimum Qualifications**
Six months cashiering experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), basic mathematical skills, and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. Word processing and spreadsheet skills may be preferred for certain positions.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
**Preferences**
Applicants who enjoy theatre, need only a part-time schedule, and have a very good command of the English language. Be very customer-service oriented and willing to help on all levels.
