At BlueOval SK, we will lead the transformation of the electric vehicle (EV) battery business through
partnership (Joint Venture formed by Ford and SK On) to provide products and processes to
increase our customers’ experience. As the future of BlueOval SK, you will help lead the battery
revolution by working alongside our teams as we build the batteries required for electric vehicle
business excellence.
Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee including building three state-ofthe
art battery manufacturing facilities between the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee
and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will
use Ford’s 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On’s 30+ years of electric
vehicle battery expertise to become the world’s best battery manufacturer.
The FBS Center of Excellence for BlueOval SK will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to
be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from the ground up.

Essential Skills
• Strong project management skills, previous experience in working with IT integrators to
launch IT tools a plus

Desired Experience & Background
• LLB Mandatory , LLM preferred
• 8-10 years experience in contract negotiation as an inhouse lawyer, preferably global
experience
• Experience in purchasing, mining or ESG due diligence will be an added advantage
Additional Requirement
• 12PM to 10PM IST Shift (overlap 4-5 hours working in US CDT time zone).
• Open for travel in initial phase for on-job training or supporting work.
Major Responsibilities Include
• Lead Environmental, social and governance (ESG) contract negotiations with Purchasing and
Corporate Development. Ensure that company’s ESG standards are being included in
contractual agreements
• Lead ESG due diligence of potential raw material companies by coordinating ESG
assessment and follow-up with suppliers/partners to meet contract requirements and
manage implementation of corrective action plans
• Support related sustainability legislation requirements compliance and implementation
plans, including due diligence for human rights, batteries, carbon emissions reporting, etc.
• Lead closure of any due diligence actions identified within contract for North and South
America and coordinate with regional managers for regional closure
• Lead post-contractual ESG ongoing due diligence and audits
• Support the Enterprise Risk and Compliance Manager on other regulatory compliance
matters
• Support legal in additional purchasing contract negotiations including service agreements,
NDA and create templates for the same.
• Document processes and procedures for battery raw material supplier due diligence actions
• Support battery material supplier traceability efforts
• Support the development and implementation of sustainability strategies through
benchmarking, trend analysis, and recommendations for improvement opportunities
• Support annual updates to policies, sustainability reporting, and other required due
diligence reports
• Work with cross-functional organizations to develop and implement initiatives that can
improve reporting
• Support technological tools that the team uses to manage data
• Special projects as required -- need to be willing/flexible to take on assignments outside the
normal scope of work
• Open for international travel for workshops and supporting work
