Bookkeeper
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Bookkeeper in the heart of New York City. This role is pivotal in the finance industry, as you will be tasked with maintaining financial records, processing payroll, and managing accounts payable and receivable. Responsibilities: • Ensure accuracy and efficiency in processing customer credit applications • Maintain and manage customer credit records • Download and review all transactions from bank and credit card accounts independently • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable • Conduct weekly reconciliation of cash and credit cards • Construct and sustain complete and accurate financial records • Post and process journal entries as required • Handle payroll processing and record entries as necessary • Manage the Chart of Accounts • Engage in intercompany accounting/bookkeeping • Prepare monthly management reports, including budgets and cash flow forecasts • Calculate Sales Taxes on a monthly basis • Prepare weekly and monthly commissions for Sales Team and Venues • Provide weekly AR reports to Sales Team and VP and Director of Finance • Manage full cycle of accounts payable • Set up accounts on payment platforms for new customers • Maintain strong communication and build relationships with customers • Handle full cycle of bookkeeping for other entities • Collaborate closely with the Director of Finance and other accounting staff on various tasks. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a bookkeeping role • Proficiency in account reconciliation and handling both accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) • Experience with bank reconciliations • Solid understanding and experience of bookkeeping practices and principles • Proficient in data entry tasks • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel • Experience with month-end close procedures • Ability to manage payroll tasks effectively • Proficiency in using QuickBooks and NetSuite software for financial management and reporting • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
