What we need 

Symbotic is seeking a Bill of Materials Coordinator to join our Structure and System Layout team within our Core Hardware Engineering organization. Your job will be to compile detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) of complex steel structures as well as electro-mechanical components of automation systems.  This opportunity will expose you to a wide variety of sales and engineering teams within our organization as well as customer’s architects, structural engineers, construction experts and leading-edge technologies in the automation and robotics industries.  

 

What we do 

The System Layout and Structural Engineering team is part of the Hardware Engineering organization, which is responsible for the Mechanical, Structural, and Electrical Engineering of the Symbot and the Structure, System Layout, and Electrical Distribution Systems. 

 

What you’ll do 

Create and maintain detailed BOMs for steel rack structures, safety equipment and systems, & electro-mechanical equipment. 

Create and process Engineering Change Requests (ECR) & Engineering Change Orders (ECO) for core structure and other supporting assemblies including drawing releases and changes to BOMs. 

Develop and maintain tools and calculators to assist in material take offs.  

Work with cross-functional engineering & design teams to compile data to support BOM documentation.  

Support teams’ efforts to release accurate project deliverables against established Stage Gate process. 

 

What you’ll need 

2+ years’ experience creating and maintaining Bills of Material for large steel & electro-mechanical assemblies. 

Experience with PLM systems such as Arena or TeamCenter required. 

Detail oriented and schedule driven. 

Ability to use AutoCAD a bonus. 

Experience in Material Handling and/or Automation Systems a plus.  

Ability to travel up to 10%. 

 

Our Environment  

Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations. 

The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
