How you will make Plan Zero happen

Mitie Controls are a leading supplier of BMS services and solutions throughout the UK and have built established partner relationships with the leading BMS manufacturers.

The activities delivered by this highly skilled team is ensuring optimal performance of new BMS installations and upgrades across our client's sites to maintain comfort conditions and drive down energy usage in our goal to achieve Zero Carbon.

Following significant growth, Mitie Controls we now have a vacancy for a BMS Solutions Manager – Business Development who will be responsible for securing new opportunities and new BMS project works across Mitie's portfolio of clients.

 

This role is pivotal to the growth of Mitie Controls and is key to the success of the wider Mitie Plan Zero team.

The role requires an excellent understanding of BMS systems with a strong understanding of the Trend BMS product range. Having knowledge of Tridium and / or other BMS systems will be key to allowing the creation of BMS solutions.

 

The key objectives of this role are:

To be accountable for owning the business development lifecycle with Mitie clients securing and exceeding the sales targets for new BMS and Plan Zero works.

 

Influence the growth of the operation by taking responsibility of key clients to help them in the delivery of their Plan zero strategies enabling a strong pipeline of BMS opportunities.

 

Establish oneself as one of the “go to” points of contact for progressing new Plan Zero opportunities and establishing long term strategic relationships with Mitie's key client base that will continue to help clients achieve Net Zero.

 

Become a conduit between client and operation delivery teams to ensure new projects are designed,  accurately and to the highest standards to allow works to be secured and profitably delivered.

 

Proactively build strong and honest client relationships to establish and maintain a continuous strategy of ongoing investment in their Building Management Systems and their Plan Zero pathways.

Explore new and evolving technologies with Building Management Systems and Metering solutions to continual drive Mitie and our clients drives towards Digital Maintenance.

 

 What will you do day to day?

This role requires extensive interaction and working with Mitie FM leads and end clients, along with a disciplined and motivated approach to delivering success in the role. This will include:

Extensive interaction with team members within the BMS and Plan Zero operation working collaboratively and proactively to deliver joined up solutions to achieve clients Net Zero Pathways. Carrying out regular site visits to survey and evaluate the most suitable BMS solution to meet client requirements. Supporting in tenders, tender interviews and the preparing of tender submissions, professionally articulating the proposed solution in a factual and honest way to gain trust as a valued supplier. Working with the dept Head of Operation to deliver growth strategies with improved margins and profitability. Be an example team player, interacting positively with all members of the wider project and support teams, absorbing feedback and comments to enhance the quoting / tendering process. Provide technical solutions, professional detailed proposals, and accurate costings for all BMS and Energy related Project works. Manage Salesforce for all owned opportunities, updating on status and providing accurate and informative sales forecasts. Provide technical support on new innovative solutions that showcase new technologies and integration opportunities.

 

Who will you work with?

The National BMS Projects & Operation team consists of an operation of 60. This Operation is an integral part of the 250 strong Plan Zero business. You will work alongside and under the Director of the BMS Business and in partnership with the Plan Zero Business Development Leads.

 

Experience & Skills

Ideally you will have extensive knowledge and experience of Building Management Systems, primarily Trend, Tridium, Distech and Priva. Have experience in a Sales and Business Development role or / and from a Technical Engineering background Commercially able to make good business judgement. Motivated and have good cross-functional relationships. Customer focus on providing solutions beneficial to customers Willing to learn and have a desire to be the best at what they do. Hard working and committed to client delivery to the highest standards. Have an understanding on Modbus and BACnet Integration requirements and engineering requirements An ability to create optimised strategies from scratch An excellent communicator and respected individual Enthusiastic with a passion for team and operational success
