Program Overview
Elevate is a 10-week internship program for students between their second and third year of undergraduate study interested in a career in Capital Markets. As a student in this internship program, you will gain exposure and valuable hands-on experience across Capital Markets by participating in 3 three-week rotations within Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Global Markets. You will receive on-the-job experience in each line of business while also uncovering your areas of passion and interest. In addition, you will work directly with the program manager who will provide you with training, coaching and guidance related to your professional goals. Successful completion of the program expectations will result in an offer to return as a third-year BMO Capital Markets intern.

What will you do in each rotation?
Investment Banking Rotation: You will gain valuable exposure to a wide number of industries and work with a variety of financial products including public and private debt and equity financings, mergers, and acquisitions, and financial advisory.
Responsibilities may include:
Running valuation analyses
Performing complex financial modeling
Conducting industry and company research and analysis
Developing client presentations
Writing internal and external marketing memoranda
Performing other tasks supporting client relationships and business development
Corporate Banking Rotation: You will gain valuable exposure to different portfolios and client sectors.
Responsibilities may include:
Processing client requests (e.g. new credit facilities and extensions and/or amendments to existing credit facilities)
Completing annual/interim credit reviews, which include industry and financial analysis comprising of operating performance, cash flow, leverage, coverage and liquidity, and capital-at-risk and other regulatory capital calculations
Monitoring performance of portfolio companies against credit terms and conditions and identify changes in the financial condition of a client
Preparing presentation materials and relationship profitability assessments, which involve liaising with other product and industry groups within BMO Capital Markets
Performing other duties including industry and company-specific research and ad hoc projects for senior management
Global Markets Rotation: Responsibilities will vary widely from day to day based on the needs of the business and the current market environment. Depending on the assigned desk and business needs, responsibilities may include:
Performing a variety of analytical and administrative projects and tasks
Developing presentation materials using PowerPoint and Excel
Market data capture and display, spreadsheet development
Recapping and organizing market data and events
Shadowing and learning from Trading, Sales, and Strategy professionals
Market research and programming

Eligibility Criteria:
You are a second-year student at an accredited U.S. College/University, currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with a graduation date of December 2026 or Spring 2027
You are available to work full-time from June - August 2025
You have a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
You are a U.S. citizen, permanent resident of U.S., or an individual who is legally authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require sponsorship in the future
The annual base salary for this position is $80,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
