The Blasting Technical Representative provides field blasting support to the Company’s operations, including the ongoing development and presentation of all blaster training programs and public relations/education activities. Specifically evaluates and facilitates the application of blasting techniques and products.

What you will be doing:  

Evaluates and facilitates the application of blasting techniques and products. Provides inter-company technical reports on blasting applications, procedures, and results. Provides hands-on assistance in the planning and development of blasting projects as needed. Assists in the development and presentation of blasting plans and procedures as well as the development of blasting specific best practices guidelines for the Company and its operating standards. Assists with project reviews to reduce cost, ongoing blasting product testing, and the investigation of blasting incidents and related issues. Supports the Company in business development initiatives, technical support communications to employees, and the development and support of Company Safety Policies. Participates with Blaster Training Committee as well as Blaster and Blaster Training Programs. Participates in monthly Foreman, periodic safety and job meetings as needed. Attends daily heads-up safety meetings. Performs out of town and state travel to worksites as necessary. Performs all other duties as assigned. Demonstrates a commitment to the “Safety First” mantra throughout the company. Provides oversight and direction in a supportive role during the technical training process.

In order to be successful in this role, here’s what we will need from you:

Excellent attention to detail and task orientation. Ability to adapt to changing priorities with a high capacity for flexibility. Strong team orientation with the ability to work well with others. Possesses a valid state driver’s license with access to reliable transportation as well as an acceptable driver’s record as defined by the Company’s insurance carrier. Ability to pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug/alcohol test. Must successfully pass criminal background check for ATF. Ability to perform prolonged periods of standing, walking, and reaching, as well as lifting, pushing, and pulling. Preforms stooping and bending 30 to 40% of the time. Must be able to lift 50 to 100lbs., 30 to 40% of the time. Must be able to tolerate exposure to excess noise under strenuous working conditions. Ability to perform work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather conditions.

About You

You are highly experienced in the drilling and blasting industry, with at least five years of experience working with drills and explosives, as well as at least two years in a technical-focused position. You hold a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, and you will also bring experience in Blasting Technical Training with the ability to obtain valid Blasting Certificates. You are highly knowledgeable in various Federal and State regulations pertaining to the use and handling of commercial explosives, in addition to a broad knowledge of commercial explosives and commercial explosives applications.
