Position Responsibilities:

 

·         Provides for patient privacy and confidentiality by handling sensitive patient information with discretion.

·         Attends conferences/updates as requested by Department of Vital Statistics.

·         Keeps supervisor updated on changes, written communication, statistical reports from the Department of Vital Statistics in a timely manner.

·         Meets all Count and State deadlines as it relates to Birth Certificates.

·         Maintains competency with computer and software programs related to birth statistics and Healthy Start program.

·         Is flexible to work schedule to meet volume needs, works weekends as needed.

·         Provides orientation and additional update training as needed to other secretaries cross-trained to cover absence or during high volume periods.

·         Collects and transcribes patient data accurately.

·         Is flexible with work schedule to meet volume needs, works weekends as needed.

·         Is knowledgeable and adheres to infant abduction prevention program.

·         Reviews daily newborn census to assure performance.

·         All other tasks as related to the position duties.

Qualifications:

·         High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

·         1-2 years of experience, preferably within Maternal/Child Units.

·         Bilingual
