Overview TRC has an opening for a Biologist / Wetland Scientist to report to our Milwaukee, WI or Madison, WI office. Working from a different location is also an option as long as the individual is located in Wisconsin. This is a Full time position. This person will support large-scale and small-scale renewable energy, transportation, transmission line, pipeline, and public utility projects focusing on Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Occasional work in other states to support other teams will be required as needed. The successful candidate will enjoy the challenges of working alongside others in a fast-paced environment and they will help to develop effective solutions to both expected and unexpected project challenges. **This position will require frequent travel away from the office. Responsibilities Responsibilities Perform all types of biological survey and reporting projects, ranging from small local surveys through large, multi-year and multi-state projects. Handle planning, logistics, and supervision of fieldwork for projects as assigned and assist with report writing, under the direction of a Project Manager. Promote TRC safety and quality standards, policies and procedures and ensure field employees comply. Ensure that all work and data collected are accurate, organized, and of high quality. Qualifications Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, or a similar field is required. Master’s degree or PhD preferred. At least two years of experience performing wetland delineations and other types of biological surveys. A preferred candidate would have at least 5 years of experience performing wetland delineations and other types of biological surveys and be certified by the Society of Wetland Scientists as a Professional Wetland Scientist. An ideal candidate would be a WDNR Assured Wetland Delineator. A firm understanding and ability to apply the guidance in the 1987 Corps of Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual and the Midwest and Northcentral and Northeast Supplements. Experience preparing Section 401/404 and state wetland/waterway permit applications. Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS units, tablets, cameras). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A commitment to safety. Ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner, with a track record of meeting deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and management skills. The ability to work well on a team and individually. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
