Bioassay, Biosafety & Impurities Summer Intern

We are seeking sophomore, junior, and Master's students majoring in Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Bioengineering Life Sciences, or a related field for three 12-Week Student Intern roles to be working in Gaithersburg, MD for a May 19th - August 8th contract period.

Position Duties:

This role has three separate headcount for the descriptions listed below.

Bioassay Method Development Intern:

Assist in cell culture of various cell lines used in Bioassay and Biosafety by routine cull culture and reagent prep and documentation.

Observe and Train in a functional assay that will be used for majority of the internship.

Utilize Data analysis programming (Prism, Softmax, etc.) to analyze data sets and summarize data of session into a poster format.

Quantitative PCR Assay Development for the Determination of Plasmid Copy Number for Vaccine Constructs:

Culture and maintenance of cells, cell banking and treatment of cells for bioassays.

Design and test primers for PCR assays, method optimization (both bioassays and PCR strategy).

Analyze and interpret data and present data to manager/team.

Molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction and quantification.

Bioassay Development Role in Drug Development:

Assist in cell culture of various cell lines used in Bioassay and Biosafety by routine cull culture and reagent prep and documentation.

Observe and Train in a functional assay that will be used for majority of the internship.

Utilize Data analysis programming (Prism, Softmax, etc.) to analyze data sets and summarize data of session into a poster format.

Position Requirements:

Sophomore, junior, and Master's students majoring in Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Bioengineering Life Sciences, or a related field.

Candidates must have an expected graduation date after August 2025.

Wet lab skills such as cell culture, pipetting, treatment of cells, and molecular biology techniques are a plus.

Experience with primer designing, real-time PCR, dd-PCR, cell-based assays are a plus.

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment and ability to multi-task are required.

Strong scientific skills including data processing, interpretation and presentation are preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.

Enthusiasm for collaboration, cross-functional projects, public speaking, and presentation design.

US Work Authorization is required at time of application.

This role will not be providing CPT/OPT support.

Ability to report onsite to Gaithersburg, MD for 5 days a week. This role will not provide relocation assistance.

Minimum grade point average of 3.0
