Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented BIM Specialist – Arch to join our team!
Key Responsibilities:
1. BIM Model Development & Management:
Create, manage, and update detailed 3D building models (architectural and structural) using Autodesk Revit and other BIM tools.
Ensure that the architectural and structural models align with luxury design standards, integrating high-end materials, finishes, and bespoke elements.
Collaborate with other BIM specialists (MEP, Civil) to ensure a fully coordinated building model that addresses luxury project specifications.
2. Coordination & Collaboration:
Facilitate coordination between architecture, structure, MEP, civil, and interior design teams, ensuring that all building elements are harmonized.
Attend regular coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to review design progress and resolve any model conflicts.
Ensure that the building model is aligned with the aesthetic goals of the client and complies with luxury design expectations.
3. Clash Detection & Resolution:
Conduct clash detection using Navisworks or similar software, identifying and resolving conflicts between various building systems.
Proactively address design issues and provide BIM-based solutions to avoid construction delays and maintain high-quality outcomes.
4. Documentation & Deliverables:
Generate detailed architectural and structural drawings, schedules, and reports directly from the BIM model.
Ensure that all deliverables comply with the project’s luxury standards, local regulations, and international building codes.
Prepare construction documents, shop drawings, and schedules, integrating the unique demands of luxury projects such as bespoke finishes, high-end materials, and custom features.
5. Quality Control & Compliance:
Implement BIM quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of the building models.
Ensure that the design meets high-end luxury standards while adhering to the PMC’s quality management protocols.
Monitor and enforce compliance with BIM execution plans and industry standards (e.g., ISO 19650).
6. Risk Management & Problem Solving:
Identify potential design risks or constructability issues early in the project lifecycle, particularly in relation to luxury-specific design features.
Work closely with the project management team to mitigate risks through model adjustments and informed decision-making.
7. Training & Development:
Provide training and technical support to project teams, ensuring that all stakeholders understand and utilize BIM processes effectively.
Stay updated with the latest BIM technologies, tools, and workflows, incorporating new innovations relevant to luxury building projects.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Structural Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
Minimum 10-15 years of experience in BIM management, with at least 8 years working on high-end luxury building projects in the construction industry.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM-related software.
Strong understanding of building systems, materials, and high-end finishes relevant to luxury construction.
Experience in clash detection, model coordination, and producing detailed architectural and structural drawings.
Soft Skills:
Excellent coordination and communication skills, with experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
Detail-oriented with an eye for luxury design aesthetics and quality.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver precise, high-quality results under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in BIM management or Autodesk Revit (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional).
Experience in PMC environments, working on large-scale luxury residential, commercial, or hospitality projects.
Knowledge of sustainable building practices and integration of green technologies, tools and workflows, incorporating new innovations relevant to luxury building projects.
