Job Description
We are seeking an experienced BIM/VDC Electrical Coordinator to manage the creation and production of 3D electrical drawings for field installations. This role involves coordinating with other subcontractor trades, participating in coordination meetings, and ensuring compliance with budget, constructability, and NEC code requirements. You will also be responsible for producing shop drawings, cross-sections of underground conduits, cables, and other electrical systems required for Pre-fabrication and Field Teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong in electrical projects and proficiency in BIM and Revit.
ResponsibilitiesProduce 3D electrical drawings for field installations and coordinate with other subcontractor trades.Participate in coordination meetings to resolve clashes while maintaining budget, constructability, and NEC code.Produce shop drawings, cross-sections of underground conduits and cables, and other electrical systems for Pre-fabrication and Field Teams.Prepare documentation requesting clarification of original design in the form of RFIs and follow up responses.Read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical floor plans, sections, and elevations.Confer with the engineer of record and project management staff to resolve problems and explain drawings to production or construction teams, providing adjustments as necessary.Travel to various project sites as required.Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs.Successfully manage a small BIM/VDC team.Back up or act on behalf of the VDC-Prefab Manager when required.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsProficiency in BIM and Revit.Experience working with electrical projects.Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical floor plans.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide adjustments to drawings as necessary.Effective communication skills for conferring with engineers and project management staff.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working as an electrician or in electrical installation and construction.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other relevant software.Experience with data centers and electrical systems.Knowledge of Dynamo, Revit MEP, and Evolve MEP.Work Environment
This position is based in an office environment, working Monday to Friday. Travel to various project sites may be required. The work involves collaborating with a team and adhering to company policies, procedures, and safety programs.
