Billing Specialist I
**Job Summary** (Full-Time, Remote) As a Billing Specialist I you will be responsible for processing of claims, via electronic claims management system, by reviewing identified errors or rejections and resolving these issues appropriately. Also responsible for completing requests for rebilling of denied claims. Our team members enjoy a robust benefits package including health insurance, flexible scheduling, 401k and student loan repayment programs. **Required:** + Experience: Six months to a year related experience + Education: High School Diploma + Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software and E-mail software **Preferred:** + Education: Associates degree **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** 1. Analyze, research and process insurance claims through electronic claims management system in a timely manner. 2. Ensures accurate and complete clean claim submission for both paper and electronic claims 3. Processes claim updates based on direction given by facility or coding liaisons 4. Evaluates electronic insurance rejections in order to re-transmit with corrected claim information 5. Investigates rebill requests submitted to the billing department and processes these requests when appropriate 6. Audits claims/accounts for charges, duplications, and overlapped accounts prior to billing, making any necessary adjustments 7. Documents actions taken in collection system 8. Informs Billing Managers of any charging trends or edit trends and provide examples/education to other departments to reduce errors 9.
