Description We are seeking a Billing Clerk for a short-term contract employment opportunity in the service industry, based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. As a Billing Clerk, you'll be tasked with handling customer invoices, managing account cancellations and delinquencies, as well as handling customer requests. This role requires a high level of detail and the ability to work both individually and as part of a team. Responsibilities: • Conduct investigations of exceptions for customer accounts. • Perform comprehensive root cause analysis, determining the necessary corrective actions to ensure proper application of payments to customer policies. • Analyze and determine the appropriate resolution for policy health exceptions. • Take corrective action for all exception streams in the appropriate work products and systems, ensuring the proper application of payments. • Monitor the status and progress of all exceptions, providing detailed reports to the accounting department until all exceptions have been resolved. • Categorize credit card declines based on specific actions after reviewing the Credit Card Exceptions report. • Process credit card resolution and track the status of credit card follow-up actions with cross-functional departments. • Investigate Credit Card Charge-Backs and provide timely responses to Credit Card Institutions. • Maintain relationships with vendors to ensure compliance with billing industry standards and trends. • Identify opportunities to streamline all activities and maintain effective communication regarding the status of activities.
