Bilingual Life Underwriting Auditor

Responsibilities:
Order APS and other relevant information, conducting research and analysis on medical/financial records, applicant insurance history, and other data sources, including confidential medical information through the Medical Information Bureau (MIB).Document findings efficiently in underwriting systems, completing full assessments of applicants' risk profiles and verifying appropriate premium classifications.Determine if remedial action is necessary for existing policies, including rescission or reformation of contracts, while consulting with the Medical Director and Chief Underwriter for complex cases.Communicate decisions effectively with producers and applicants, both verbally and in writing (English and French).Maintain accurate records and statistics of actions taken.Occasionally review new business, reinstatements, and change requests.Contribute to initiatives to automate and streamline the underwriting auditing process, helping to improve efficiency.Qualifications:
Fluency in English and FrenchMinimum of 4 years of underwriting experience in life insuranceExperience reading and interpreting Attending Physician Statements (APS).Strong knowledge of underwriting theory, principles, methods, systems, and processes.Ability to communicate effectively with agents and producers, explaining underwriting decisions clearly.Knowledge of life insurance, critical illness, and simplified productsAbility to work independently in a remote setting, with flexibility for hybrid work in Toronto.
