PPD, the global clinical research business of Thermo Fisher Scientific, has an opening for a Bid Modeling and Analytics Project Manager. Working within our Global Finance team, this home-based US role offers outstanding opportunities for growth and development.

Responsibilities will include leading the strategy, analysis and development of client specific bid models for clinical trials. Your work will directly contribute to the success of our new business initiatives and help drive our mission of enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.


Under direct supervision of Bid Model Leadership:

Supports the development and review of bid models, ensuring compliance with internal controlsResolves sophisticated problems through in-depth evaluation and financial analysis of multiple factors to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risk.Ensures quality and accuracy through detailed reviews and secures senior management approvalsServes as a point of contact for internal staff and external clients throughout model developmentWorks with cross-functional global teams on bid models, acting as liaison with commercial finance, operational finance and strategic finance leads.Incorporates client expectations, metrics, and other benchmarks into bid model developmentAttends client meetings to help facilitate client budget model review and participates in unit price negotiations.Works within bidding software system to perform analysis of client budget compared to actual data, validate calculations and forecasting, and ensure accurate output of data in client required templates.


Keys to Success:
To thrive in this role, you'll need to have a consistent record of success in budget development and analytics and strong leadership and communication skills. Basic role requirements include:

Serve as a subject matter authority on budget trends and data analysis to advise bid modeling decisionsProduce periodic reports indicating departmental workload and performance, that provide critical information on future business trends to the executive management teamDevelopment of account specific standards for contracts, including presentation of budget, payment terms, standard contract language, etc, and discussion with client as appropriateMaintain a high level of flexibility. Proactively create and reset priorities as required to adhere to standard turnaround times.Identify/raise issues and adjust quickly to the changes of a dynamic organization.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualificationPrevious budget development and analytics experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years’ experience) Contract Research Organization (CRO) experience highly preferredIn some cases an equivalency, consisting of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Proficient understanding of financial principles, programs, trends, and effective approachesAdvanced level of skill in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation of dataStrong collaboration and project management skillsDemonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organizationAbility to delegate and balance work and deliver against competing demandsAbility to identify and anticipate potential problems and take proactive actionStrong understanding of business operations and ability to navigate complex organizational structures

The annual salary range estimated for this position is $70,000 - $125,000 USD. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
