Benefits Specialist II

As a Benefits Specialist II, you will be responsible for administering employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing exceptional support to employees regarding their benefits. This role involves coordinating benefits enrollments, managing benefits-related documentation, and assisting in the resolution of benefits issues. The Benefits Specialist II works closely with the HR team to ensure the smooth operation of benefits programs and contributes to the overall employee experience.
As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.
**Responsibilities**
+ Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, life insurance, wellness, leave of absence and other employee benefits.
+ Coordinate benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
+ Coordinate leave of absence administration between third-party vendors, internal business partners and employees
+ Provide support to employees regarding their benefits, answering questions, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
+ Maintain and update benefits records and documentation, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
+ Assist in the preparation and distribution of benefits communication materials, such as benefits guides, enrollment packets, and informational emails.
+ Conduct benefits orientations and assist in the delivery of benefits training sessions for new hires and existing employees.
+ Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, such as ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
+ Collaborate with benefits vendors and third-party administrators to manage benefits & leave programs and resolve issues.
+ Support the annual benefits open enrollment process, including preparation, communication, and enrollment assistance.
+ Analyze benefits data and generate reports to support decision-making and identify trends or areas for improvement.
**Qualifications You Must Have:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
+ 2+ years of experience in benefits administration, leave of absence or a related HR role.
+ Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of related experience is required.
+ Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
+ Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs and relevant laws and regulations.
**Qualifications We Prefer:**
• Experience in one or more - HR, Benefits, Retirement Plans, Leave Administration or related work
• Strong Computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Word and Excel
Certification in benefits administration (e.g., CEBS, CBP).
Proficiency with HR information systems (HRIS), benefits administration software, leave of absence software.
• Knowledge of DoD, government contracting and/or public auditing, policies, standards, and procedures
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $71,338.47 - $98,090.40. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
