The company is currently seeking a Benefit Assistant.
Position Summary/ Primary Purpose
The Benefits Assistant is responsible for assisting the benefits department in administration of employee benefits in all
company operations. As needed, this position provides special guidance and assistance to all locations on various
employee benefit plans.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
benefits elections before the end of their eligibility period.Assists with managing the benefit enrollment process, ensuring employee records are constantly maintained and
updated.Assists with providing comprehensive explanation of benefits to new hires and guide them through Open Enrollment.Assists report-to in serving as a liaison between the organization and insurance providers, monitoring and reporting
on insurance claim issues.Audit carrier invoices and question expenses as needed. Verify expenses against contract to ensure billing is accurate
and in accordance with all vendor terms and conditions.Ensure timely payment of monthly benefit premiums. Work closely with vendor to revise invoices when appropriate.Manage weekly 401k feedback files and implement any adjustments within the payroll software.Ensure the 401k accounts are funded with deferrals on a weekly basis.Monitor disability claims and alert the subsidiaries of any adjustments in the claims.Manage payroll provider invoices and ensure timely payment.Breakout benefit charges to the different subsidiaries and request payment.Always maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive and confidential data.Servicing employee benefit accounts; Medical, Dental, STD, LTD, Vision, HSA, FSA, etc.Perform other duties as assigned.Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive and confidential data.
Knowledge
Baseline knowledge of legal requirements for benefits program administration.Baseline knowledge of principles and procedures for: compensation and benefits, information systems, and federaland state employment laws.Strong knowledge of HR processes – onboarding, payroll, and benefits and must be knowledgeable about healthcare
reform and HIPAA regulations.Must have and maintain knowledge of customer and personal service principles which includes customer needs
assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.Accounts Payable knowledge. Qualifications

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or other related field or equivalent experience required.1-3 years’ experience in a benefits administration role.ADP Workforce Now experience is preferred.Demonstrated Physical Abilities
Remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment;
operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through
talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence. Up to 15% travel.
