State retirement package becomes fully vested after five years Pride in your community’s education 403B matching funds up to 1.25% of Annual Salary District Contribution Towards Life Insurance Job Summary: Under supervision of the Finance Director, the incumbent performs comprehensive administrative and finance work supporting departmental functions and programs for Finance. The incumbent shall value and promote the mission and vision of the district. This position facilitates efficient operation of the department by performing clerical and administrative tasks. Essential Job Duties + Deposit, record, and reconcile all receipts and payments to the bank + Record all deposits into software program, including electronic & ACH payments + Process and recover returned checks, adjusting accounts as needed + Reconcile activity accounts for all buildings and initiates journal entries as needed + Provide monthly activity account statements for the Board + Facilitate Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT’s) as needed + Facilitate and process electronic payments + Assists with grant management including reconciliation and cash requests for state and federal grants. + Assists with submission of monthly, quarterly, or annual claims as requested (i.e. MAC, etc.) + Assist in year-end financial reconciliation, tracking, and reporting + Assists with and monitors facility rental revenue + Assist with vendor maintenance, independent contractor certificates and W-9’s. + Assists with capital assets management and depreciation schedule, as needed. + Cross-trained in accounts payable, budgeting and finance to provide back up during absences + Assists with district audit as requested + Provide general clerical assistance + Ensures that collections balance and students receiving free and reduced lunches are credited appropriately. + Determine eligibility status, process, certify, and terminate families/participants in the Free/Reduced Price Lunch program as required by law; keep confidential records and a variety of logs, files and reports required. + Assists in the preparation and maintenance of all food service reports and records as required by federal, state or local regulations. + Performs other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: + High School diploma or equivalent + Knowledge and experience with general accounting practices + Proficiency or ability to learn various software applications such as MS Word, Excel, Google Suite, and other pertinent software applications + Valid Montana driver’s license Knowledge Skills Abilities + Ability to work on multiple projects with attention to detail + Basic arithmetic, filing, and record-keeping procedures + Perform a variety of clerical work involving use of independent judgment and requiring accuracy and speed? + Receive and give information over the telephone or in person in a courteous manner. + Handle a variety of telephone calls and personal contacts with tact, diplomacy, and discretion + Able to express himself/herself clearly and concisely in both oral and written communications + Communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders and vendors + Compile and maintain accurate and complete records and reports + Understand and carry out oral and written instructions + Ability to identify problems, brainstorm and analyze answers, and implement the best solutions + Ability to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods + Ability to handle stressful situations + Ability to maintain confidentiality + Ability to effectively manage time and responsibilities + Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. + Strong computer skills including but not limited to use of data processing and spreadsheet computer software. + Ability to abide by and enforce school district policies, administrative rules, regulations and directives. + Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, administrators, food service and other district support staff, teachers, and the general public. + Ability to keep accurate records and reports. + Continues professional improvement. + Ability to work well with others.
