A Qualified Professional (10A NCAC 27G .0104) must have one of the following:

Bachelor degree (non Human Services) with 4 years Full time OR 8 years Part time applicable experience required

Bachelor degree (Human Services) with 2 years Full time OR 4 years Part time applicable experience required

Master degree (Human Services) with 1 year Full time OR 2 years Part time applicable experience required

This Opportunity:The Behavioral Health Therapist, MORES works directly with the youth and families to assist in safety planning, crisis stabilization, and establishing groundwork for family and community relationships. MORES is a team-based crisis intervention for children and adolescents ages 3-21 experiencing emotional and/or behavioral needs. MORES provides up to four weeks of follow-up services for youth who have experienced a behavioral health crisis.

What You'll Do:

Provide solution-focused behavioral health services that are responsive to child and family, juvenile justice, social services, and school needs.

Provide appropriate screening, early identification, and assessment of suicide risk, trauma exposure, substance use, and exposure to and risk of violence, eating disorders and other clinical presentations.

Assess and continue to assess the youth’s acuity level based on relevant clinical features such as risk of harm to self and/or others, mental status, diagnosis, risk level, overall level of functioning, behavioral history, and any other relevant information.

Provide direct services to child and family in the planning and treatment process.

Increase community awareness of behavioral health supports by providing education, outreach and marketing to children, families, schools, communities, and stakeholders.

Generate all required intervention notes, crisis plans, billing forms, and service notes regarding all contact and other appropriate medical records documentation.

Adhere to specific service definition and data collection requirements.

Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures, as well as state and federal statutes and regulations related to specific program areas.

Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and assist in crisis situations.

Participate in on call and afterhours coverage, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Driving and travel may be required.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

Proven experience in crisis intervention and stabilization

3 or more years working with individuals and families across various disciplines (Mental Health, Substance use, Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities)

Must have knowledge and training in dual diagnosis (MHSU and IDD)

Knowledge in safety and crisis planning.

Knowledge in negotiating with clients, family/caregivers, and service providers.

Knowledge in de-escalation:  observing, interrupting, and shifting dynamics, education, and skill introduction.

Work independently, performing duties under general supervision.

Communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Develop rapport and communicate with person from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Education We're Looking For:Masters: Human Services (Required)

Certifications We're Looking For:Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) - State Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) - State Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - State Social Work Certification and Licensure Board, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) - State Marriage and Family Therapy Licensure Board, Qualified Professional (QP) - Monarch-DSM

Experience We're Looking For:Experience working with children, adolescents or transition-age youth, Experience working with individuals and families across various disciplines (Mental Health, Substance use, Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities), Proven experience in crisis intervention and stabilization

Schedule:Rotating schedule to meet the needs of the people we support. Team will be available 7 days/week between 8:00am-11:00pm.
