Requisition No: 846926 Agency: Children and Families Working Title: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CONSULTANT - 60005230 Pay Plan: Career Service Position Number: 60005230 Salary: $60,000.00-$73,000.00 Posting Closing Date: 02/21/2025 Total Compensation Estimator Tool (https://compcalculator.myflorida.com/) What they will do: The Behavioral Health Integration Specialist position will play an integral role in promoting Department priorities such as prevention, integration, and collaboration by providing expertise on a Teaming Prototype focused on multi-agency collaboration to provide coordination, linkage, and support within the system of care for youth, children and their families to prevent utilization of deeper-end services. This position will work within multiple systems and with multiple stakeholders Statewide. How you will make an impact: The Behavioral Health Integration Specialist (BHIS) will provide support to children and families with behavioral health conditions in the child welfare and community system, with a concentrated focus on family behavioral health issues and improving access to care. The BHIS will consult and collaborate with community and child welfare providers to ensure families are being served appropriate and timely in the system of care.    Job Duties: + Fostering relationships with law enforcement, community-based care (CBC) agencies, regional managing entity, managed care plans, schools, peer networks, network service providers, Department of Juvenile Justice, Agency for Persons with Disabilities, and other agencies to provide ongoing technical assistance and consultation related to the identification of behavioral health conditions and best practices to engage and treat, to include the demonstration of engagement techniques with the family. + Establish collaborative relationships with service providers, community resources, and agencies to ensure clients can quickly access essential services. + Oversees and coordinates services for clients, helping them navigate complex systems and ensuring they receive appropriate and timely care. + Connects clients to specific resources and conducts follow-up to confirm they are successfully engaged and receiving necessary support. + Provides clients and their families with education on mental health, wellness, and coping strategies to enhance understanding and empower informed decision-making. + Work collaboratively with community service providers and the Managing Entity (ME) to develop contacts, facilitate referrals, and assist investigative staff with engaging clients in recommended services and improving timely access to treatment. Work collaboratively with the ME and service providers to establish processes to track the referrals and entry into treatment for children and adults with disorders. + Facilitation of multi-agency staffing and participation in legal, and any other meetings that will assist the child and family. + Maintain case tracking and provide statistical data as requested. + Promotes improved communication, coordination, accountability, and quality across human-service agencies. + Participate in ensuring the System of Care Statewide is sustainable and working towards a reduction in Baker Acts and decreasing the utilization of higher levels of care. This will entail working closely with the crisis stabilization units and community providers. + Attend community meetings and other travel related activities as needed. Qualifications: + Florida license in the areas of psychology, social work, mental health counseling, family and marriage therapy or registered intern, or master’s level Certified Addiction Professional. + Valid driver’s license.  + Prior experience facilitating staffing’s for children and families is preferred. + Prior experience with child welfare is preferred. + Prior experience with case management, care coordination, and quality assurance is preferred.
