At Change Grow Live we strive to ensure our services are warm and welcoming environments. Working within the Be Smoke Free Manchester service, as a Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor, you will be a vital part of the team.
You will provide a high-quality stop smoking service across Manchester. This will be delivered through a range of interventions, from brief advice and information to structured programmes with the aim being to support people to quit tobacco and live a healthier life.
The interventions will be delivered face to face in the community and/or remotely, on an individual or group basis, and will include motivational interviewing techniques and the dispensing of Nicotine Replacement Therapies.
You would report directly to a Tobacco Addiction Specialist Nurse and would work alongside them and the community engagement team to build relationships in the local community and provide a service that is non-judgemental, supportive and client-led to deliver these interventions to smokers in order for them to progress on their quit journey towards a healthier, happier life
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate must have an understanding of human behaviour in relation to smoking. Be able to carry out assessments and deliver interventions matched to identified needs. This will include behavioural support, the use of motivational interviewing techniques and the dispensing of Nicotine Replacement Products.
You will have excellent engagement skills, be committed to high quality service provision and the active involvement of service users.
