You’ll work with a diverse team to conduct and support research, design, development, and testing of spacecraft battery and power systems.
What will you do as a new hire?
Support flight, life and research testing for space and aircraft batteries and filter assemblies. You’ll work under general supervision to build, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain test equipment, hardware, and setups. Key duties include interpreting electrical schematics and drawings, building test harnesses and rack assemblies, and coordinating calibration of test assets. You'll also lead Ground Process Equipment Control (GPEC) and ensure the lab remains operational and organized with 6S cleanliness.
You’ll collaborate with test engineers and fellow technicians to ensure lab operations run smoothly. You will gain hands-on experience while developing technical skills and ensuring testing needs are met.
Responsibilities:
• Support and lead flight, life, and research testing for various batteries and electrical assemblies
• Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams for test setup and execution
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotational program for test support
• Coordinate calibration of test assets and lead equipment tracking and maintenance
• Troubleshoot basic electrical circuits, test equipment, and test procedures
• Maintain an organized and operational lab through continuous improvement efforts
• Document test results and maintain accurate test activity records
• Construct test harnesses and rack assemblies
Physical Requirements:
• Frequently lift and carry up to 20 lbs, with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs/ladders up to 10 hours a day
• Perform pushing and pulling (mechanically assisted) of up to 1000 lbs
• Ability perform in potentially hot or cold environments including confined spaces
• Ability to carry toolbag/tools and wear safety toed shoes throughout the day
Basic Qualifications:
• Ability to read and work with electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and drawings
• Prior experience with electrical fabrication, assembly, and/or test tools (e.g., soldering, crimping, DMM)
• Ability to lift, climb, bend, stand, push and pull
Desired Skills:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• General computer competency
• Ability to self-motivate and identify tasking without direction
• Experience with battery build and test
• Experience with electrical harness/cable build and testing
• Familiarity with SAP, VECAMS, and/or Automation Framework
• Experience with LabVIEW and NIMax software
• Strong troubleshooting and electrical circuit knowledge
• Experience with test harness and rack assembly construction
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Team-oriented attitude with solid paperwork management

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $41,100 - $72,450. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
