Job Description Summary

               

Responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining the sanitation of the dry and wet batter equipment in a manner consistent with production needs and quality standards. When the plant is not running batter, this position will be assigned sanitation duties.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities in the following; other duties may be assigned.

Work safely and responsibly to ensure no injuries to self, others, property &/or equipment.Embrace the safety culture and stay actively involved in our plant safety programs.Assist in the reduction of safety hazards through effective feedback and communication to peers.Communicate with Managers and co-workers in all departments to ensure goals & objectives are being met.Understand the plant’s allergen control program and manage the batter area and paperwork according to procedures.Monitor batter temperature according to plant Operational Prerequisite Program; execute related cleanup activities.Coordinate batter changes and system sanitation resets with shift leadership; communicate any issues.Check product specifications at the beginning of each shift to ensure the correct batter is being applied at target viscosity.Monitor and control viscosity in the mix tanks, holding tanks and applicator; inform Process Lead or Team Leader when viscosity is outside the specification range.Handle totes and operate equipment in the dry batter room in a safe and food safe manner.Verify batter inventory for current item running and next item on the production plan.Document viscosity, equipment settings and batter inventory information.Ensure line equipment is properly set up for production run and operating properly.Utilize the process control system to troubleshoot and resolve issues.Assemble and disassemble equipment for startup, shut down, sanitation activities and to unplug equipment when necessary.Effectively clean batter system during line break and during major clean up as assigned.Maintain your area of responsibility in a neat and orderly fashion. Keep tools picked up and in their proper place on shadow boards.Communicate issues that cannot be corrected on shift on appropriate T-Card and SAP notifications for those things that require maintenance support.Identify losses in product or production or ineffective equipment and communicate to make improvements.Behave in a professional manner at all times & comply with all Company policies & procedures.Perform other functions as directed by the Team Leader.Must maintain a good attendance record.Perform Sanitation Tech duties when the line is not running batter.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience desired, but not required.

Language Skills

Ability to speak, read and write in English is required.

Must be able to communicate well, understand and comprehend verbal & written instruction.

Mathematical Skills

Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using a calculator.

Must be able to use and understand basic math and have minimal mechanical ability.

Computer Skills

Ability to use Microsoft Suite including; word, PowerPoint and excel.

Ability to enter data, draft emails and make presentations if needed.

Must know or have the ability to learn internal computer programs and operating systems.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Must be able to work in all environments such as; hot, cold, wet or dry.

Must be able to safely use chemicals required for chemicals.

Must be able to work in all environments such as; hot, cold, wet or dry.

Must be able to work in an environment exposed to wheat allergen.
