Summary This position is located within Commander, Mid-Atlantic Region, Fleet and Family Readiness Program at Naval Station Norfolk. The purpose of this position is to provide beverage service in a dining room, bar/lounge facility. Responsibilities Sets up bar for operation, including garnishes for mixed drinks. Mixes and serves a limited variety of alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks to order, following a variety of established recipes. Serves patrons directly, receives payment, operates cash register, makes and returns change to the patron. At close of facility, completes the Daily Activity Report (DAR), verifies amount of money collected and drops the cashier bag into the safe. Performs basic cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washes bar equipment, glassware, utensils, etc., to maintain a constant and clean working area. Ensures all current sanitation requirements are followed and maintained. Performs other related duties as required. Must meet minimum age requirement. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs.A qualified candidate possess the following: Knowledge of basic arithmetic and cash handling procedures to compute changes and make change quickly and accurately. Must possess working knowledge of sanitation practices and procedures. Must be a mature individual who can exercise control over a large group of people to ensure good order and discipline as necessary. Must possess working knowledge and skill to mix and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from a limited bar. A minimum of six months' experience is strongly preferred. Education This position does not have a positive education requirement. Additional Information Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Some positions have special requirements.
